The time has passed way too fast. It seems that we just arrived on these islands, and now that we have learned to relax and slow down, we have to get back on a jet to busy Guayaquil or Quito. Soon you will be catching your flight home.
The departure from Galapagos is always a sad one for me as I feel as I am leaving behind many good friends - both human and animal. The crew of the boat has been wonderful and we exchange abrazos or hugs before we leave the boat for the bus back to the airport and on to new adventures and new friends.
At the airport we have time for some cold drinks and stories amongst our group. We gather with other groups and individuals with whom we arrived on the plane that first day. You have a hard time recognizing anyone - they all look so different. You realize that they, too, have had a wonderful time with wondrous experiences.
On the flight back to the mainland you begin thinking about your next adventure
